Dear Action Video Service friends and family,
I wanted to reach out to let you know of our plans in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. First and foremost, I recognize the immense suffering that’s happening in the world. My honest prayer is for healing and recovery for all involved. As a small business, we’re naturally being heavily impacted, but I’ve made the decision to have my entire staff self-quarantine at home in hopes of flattening the curve of the virus. While none of us show any symptoms or feel we’ve come in contact with the virus, I felt it was the best thing to do.
For the week of March 16-23, 2020, I will be the only person at the studio accepting new orders, answering phones, or allowing orders on the shelves to be paid for and picked up. I have personally spent a lot of time cleaning the surfaces of our studio both before and after each client entered (even though we always keep a clean lobby throughout the year anyway). I’ve discontinued use of our GALAGA arcade game and removed all literature and samples from our lobby. I am also going to shorten our hours next week (this information will be posted on our website at ActionVideoService.com ~ or call 972-437-2021 to find out more as this may fluctuate depending on how the week goes).
As we all face this situation together, it’s a time now more than ever to remember our past, but to push towards the future. As a company that helps people rescue their memories, I hope you’ll take the time to consider transferring any of those items you’ve put off for so long while you self-quarantine and exhibit social distancing in the near future. Go through those old photos and slides, find the film reels, and gather together the videotapes to bring in sometime when you feel like it’s safe to venture out (*shipping is always an option too).
If you’ve stepped into my studio you already know I have a lot of crazy toys and unique items, but I also display artwork I created that represents my personal faith. I hold to the knowledge that the one I believe in isn’t caught unaware and His love for us is unending.
For all of you, I’m grateful for the media you’ve brought in over the years and the support you’ve continued to show us. I love the happy tears when you hear the voices or see people brought back to life that you lost long ago. All of us at Action Video Service have children and families and I’ll be the first to say that I didn’t come by any of these decisions lightly. Ultimately though…I love this business and I hope to continue serving our community (and the world) for years to come with a full staff by my side. Be safe and know I’m thinking, praying, and am thankful for all of you. Much love.
All my very best,
Lance Gray, CEO
